Dr. Sara Beery, MIT, will speak on AI & Sustainability at the third annual UW–Madison Sustainability Symposium on October 23. Beery’s research focuses on building computer vision methods that enable global-scale environmental and biodiversity monitoring across data modalities. She was previously a visiting researcher at Google, working on large-scale urban forest monitoring as part of the Auto Arborist project.
The Sustainability Symposium provides a space to share research on sustainability, generate ideas, and inspire collaboration. All students, staff, and faculty are invited to submit a proposal to present their scholarly and creative work by September 30. Online registration is open through Monday, October 21st.
