Newly redesigned website serves the UW-Madison data science community

The data science community has a new place to explore research, academics, training and other opportunities at UW-Madison. The American Family Insurance Data Science Institute recently launched a fully updated version of the data science @ uw website that presents fresh content from partners across campus.

“This website is an inclusive source of information for researchers, students, and anyone else interested in data science offerings at UW-Madison,” said Brian Yandell, David R. Anderson Interim Director of the AFIDSI.

The revamped website features research at the AFIDSI, engagement and training offered by the Data Science Hub at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, and academic offerings at the School of Computer, Data and Information Sciences. It connects site visitors to institutes and centers across campus engaged in data science research, information about the new Data Science majors, and campus resources for data science.

An exciting new feature on this site is “Faces of Data Science,” which will profile data science researchers, staff and students in departments and divisions across campus.

Throughout the redesign process, AFIDSI sought input from partners across campus. AFIDSI will continue to reach out to the data science community for content, so the site reflects the rapidly changing landscape of this field.

“A good website is a perpetual work in progress,” said Yandell. “We look forward to engaging with the campus community and telling their stories through this site.”
